I've been blogging for over 7 years and there was a time that I felt stuck and uninspired. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that I get to do what I love and make a career out of it. I'm thankful that I get to meet all kinds of different people from different industries and different walks of life. Blogging has opened so many doors for me but I guess like everything else, after doing something for so long, I felt that I needed a breather. I needed to look for inspiration so I could evolve and offer something new to my readers. I honestly didn't know what to do and how to go about it so for a while, I crawled up in my shell and tried to hide from the world. I shied away from events because I felt that it was such a chore to dress up and show up. I stopped taking photos for awhile because I got so frustrated looking for new places to shoot. It was honestly quite depressing for a while until one day when I woke up and just decided to show up to this random event. I guess I also got tired of feeling down and unmotivated and I realized that I can't stay "stuck" for too long. It was a blessing in disguise because I bumped into an old acquaintance and she asked if she can recommend me to a travel agency! How random! This encounter gave me that spark of hope and made me remember a line from one of my favorite books that says "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." It's completely normal to get burnt out and get "stuck" sometimes. It's easy to get caught up in the daily grind and things may seem to get mundane. Take your time to reflect and find new ways to inspire or motivate yourself. It's good to step out of your comfort zone once in a while to try new things out. It took me that one event to remember that opportunities do not always come knocking at your door. More often than not, you have to go out there, take chances, and find a way for yourself. Here's to new experiences and hopefully more opportunities. Cheers!
