Battling Bloggers Block

I haven't been updating my blog as often as I want to because I've been terribly busy with other things and I often find myself at a loss when I try to come up with a story for my blog posts. I try to keep my write ups short since I know my readers appreciate the photos more but I also want to give a little background to make the post more engaging. I've been stuck with this draft for a week and I initially thought of doing a post on "How to wear white" or something about sunset on a cruise but I just couldn't think or type anything. Haha! I guess bloggers block is evident once in a while especially since I've been doing this for the past 7 years. In a previous post, I talked about feeling burnt out and taking chances. Aside from fashion blogging, I am trying to expand my content and post more about my travels and other projects.  Just recently, I took on the role as creative consultant for one the country's TV networks. (I'll tell you more about that next year!) Life started to give me more opportunities the minute I stopped wallowing in doubt and fear. I know that blogging may not be something I can do forever so I want to be dynamic and creative so I can consistently offer something new and interesting to my readers. By taking on new projects and venturing into new areas that I am not completely accustomed to, I hope more doors will open and give way for even more opportunities and new experiences.

If you're reading this and you find yourself stuck, uninspired, or tired, let me tell you this: Allow yourself to go through this rollercoaster ride of emotions. I know it sucks to wake up every morning and find yourself "stuck" without a purpose or without anything to do. It might take a while before you find the answers but whatever it is, force yourself to move and get up every single day. You don't need to do anything drastic right away! Start with cleaning your room, working out, catching up with friends, reading a book, going on a roadtrip etc. Just do something and trust me, things will eventually clear up. You will eventually meet or speak to someone or watch or read something that will give you inspiration or a spark of hope. If you read my last post, I mentioned that it took one random event and an encounter with a friend that changed everything.  Opportunity and inspiration may lie in the least expected places. Within a month of "snapping back to reality," I went on a sponsored trip, met the most incredible group of people, and signed up as a creative consultant. It's amazing how much can change the minute you decide to open yourself up to new things. Feeling stuck is a sign that it's time to make a change so go ahead and break your routine, change your perspective, and stop making excuses. Sometimes, the biggest opportunities and breakthroughs come after a period of feeling stuck or burnt out. Keep on moving forward. :) Happy weekend!
